These notes are more beautiful and emotionally-engaging than written notes, so they are a better memory and communication tool. Learn a simple process to create visual notes using doodles (or quick sketches), keywords, and connectors to organize and record complex conversations.

Do you know where your career is taking you? If not, this workshop is for you! We will start with a values clarification exercise that will help you identify what you want to give to and get out of your work. Then we will discuss career paths that utilize your skills and honor your values. Next, we will look at the career paths of accomplished professionals in your field so you can see that most professionals do not walk a direct path to success. Finally, you will make a plan to conduct informational interviews with people who've achieved your dreams.

Graduate students (and undergraduates with instructor permission) from science-oriented disciplines get practice using compelling narratives and simple visuals to communicate complex scientific ideas. This class meets continuing education requirements for K-12 teachers. Ran Spring and Fall 2020 as ENV599, 1 credit.
