Threaded Together
Threaded Together inspires creativity and connection through textile arts programs that partner with participants to nurture inclusive communities, cultivate agency, and develop employment pathways for people who have faced personal challenges and institutional injustices. Moline Creative has worked with Threaded Together to revisit their values, reflect on how they contributed to Flagstaff's response to the coronavirus pandemic, and where they want to be in the future.
Tynkertopia
Tynkertopia, Inc. is a non-profit community center in Flagstaff, AZ focusing on creativity, inquiry, and STEAM knowledge and skills (STEAM = STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics + A for the Arts) that experienced extraordinary success in its first year of existence. Then the coronavirus pandemic caused a shift in operations (from in-person education to take-home STEAM kits) that allowed the executive director and board to reimagine Tynkertopia during a half-day Moline Creative virtual workshop.
A New Dawn AZ
A New Dawn AZ’s mission is to provide access to comprehensive dental care for uninsured and underinsured adults in northern Arizona. We envision a community in which every adult can reach their fullest oral health potential. The organization worked with Moline Creative to practice to clarify roles within the organization. They also participated in a story visualization practice in which they told their story and reflected on visual notes to find the most compelling bits.
Dark Sky Aerial
DSA creates breathtaking aerial theater performances that combine aerial dance, storytelling, and theater with the goal of building community in Flagstaff, AZ. The five artistic directors have relied on their ingenuity, friendship, and hard work to create performances OPIA and TILT, which were widely embraced by the Flagstaff community. The DSA directors and board worked with Moline Creative in 2019 to envision a more streamlined process for designing, planning, and implementing future performances.
Flagstaff Foundry
The Flagstaff Foundry aims to incubate community-based art and create opportunities for anyone to perform just about anything. The Foundry worked with Moline Creative to clarify roles within the organization and visualize how each person contributes to the venue setup, management, and take down of monthly performances. The group also held a special session to discuss how the Foundry can create a more inclusive and welcoming space that invites a broader audience.
Flagstaff Shakespeare Company
The mission of the Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival, affectionately known as FlagShakes, is to faithfully portray classics of the Renaissance, as well as produce other actor-driven plays. FlagShakes worked with Moline Creative to visualize their ambitious 2020 season calendar and clarify roles within the organization.
Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra
The Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra's mission is to enrich, engage, and inspire our community through the performance of orchestral music. Moline Creative worked with the FSO Executive Director, Conductor, Board of Directors, and community members to facilitate conversations about how to create reach a broader and more diverse audience.
FLYRS (Flagstaff Youth Riders)
FLYRS is a new youth mountain biking organization in Flagstaff that runs summer camps, coaches a middle school mountain bike team, and provides after school opportunities for kids at under-served elementary schools. FLYRS wanted to work with Moline Creative to kickstart their organization and ensure a solid foundation for the next 3-5 years. The full time Executive Director, Board of Directors, and Moline Creative spent a day in November 2019 envisioning how FLYRS can best prioritize and build the organization.
